Our Kindergarten

The early years of a child's education are some of the most important years. It is from this foundation that a child will build his or her academic success. A few important notes about kindergarten at Trinity Elementary School:

• Centered on Christ and follows the mission of Trinity Catholic Schools – educating the whole student – mind, body, and soul;
• Catholic Christian values are woven through each academic discipline, in addition to daily religion class;
• Each school day begins and ends with prayer;
• Our kindergarten teachers, cummulatively, have over 30 years of experience in education and early childhood development;
• Kindergarten is offered in a full-day format at Trinity Elementary East (515 3^rd Street East) and Trinity Elementary West (145 3^rd Avenue West);
• Kindergarten begins with a review of letters and sounds; shapes and colors; and early stages of sight-word recognition. By the end of the first trimester, students will have started the early stages of reading and mathematics;
• All of our students are taught age-appropriate responsibility and discipline through positive choice making and the 7 Habits of Happy Kids concept.
