JoLyn Tessier grew up on a farm south of South Heart, North Dakota and attended grades 1 through 12 in South Heart. JoLyn graduated from Dickinson State University with a B. S. in Elementary Education and a concentration in Kindergarten. She obtained her Master's Degree in Elementary Administration from the University of Mary in 2016.
JoLyn’s teaching experience spans twenty years. She was a Title I teacher for one year in Richardton, ND. Nineteen years of her teaching career were with Dickinson Public Schools where she taught nine years in kindergarten and ten years in third grade. JoLyn has supervised and mentored Dickinson State University Student Teachers throughout her teaching career and was awarded “Teacher of the Year” for Jefferson Elementary in 2010-2011 and 2008-2009 school years. JoLyn began her administrative career with Trinity Catholic Schools in July 2014, and she is currently the principal for Trinity Elementary East and Trinity Elementary West.
JoLyn and her husband of 28 years, Craig, have two children Matthew and Breanna who graduated from Trinity High School. Matthew attends the University of Mary, and Breanna attends Josef's School of Hair, Skin, and Body.
